Bulgarian caretaker Minister of Defense participates in B9 Summit in Bucharest

Bulgarian Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov takes part in the B9 Defence Ministers Meeting, chaired by Romania and Poland. The forum takes place in Bucharest. 

Minister Zapryanov spoke on Tuesday evening with his Romanian counterpart Angel Tîlvăr, Radio Romania reported. The strengthening of the deterrence and defence abilities of NATO's eastern flank and in particular in the Black Sea region were discussed. The two also reviewed the projects launched by Romania and Bulgaria for military mobility and fuel transport in an integrated system, as well as the initiative of Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey for an anti-mine group in the Black Sea. 

The Bucharest Nine (B9) format was established on 4 November 2015 in Bucharest following the Russian occupation of Crimea in 2014.
