Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov participates in the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting at the UN headquarters

Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov participated in the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting within the framework of the General Debate of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. In his speech, Ivan Kondov emphasized that maintaining the rules on which the international order depends and strengthening their legitimacy is one of the key tasks facing multilateralism, and forums like the G-20 play an important role in this regard. 

Minister Kondov expressed hope that the mechanism of the institutionalized summit that worked well in the 1970s and is the foundation of the G-20’s work today would help advance this reform agenda. The Bulgarian Foreign Minister also expressed gratitude to the Brazilian presidency for allowing all member states to participate at this G20 ministerial meeting at the UN headquarters..
