“Sofia for beginners in 55 steps” – this is what the sightseeing tour of the Bulgarian capital, organized by the Visit Sofia municipal enterprise is called. The walking tour, which is free of charge, is 1 hour 45 minutes long, it is suitable for people of all ages, and starts every Saturday at 10 AM from the Alexander I Battenberg tomb, and ends at the Regional Museum of History – Sofia, the website bgtourism writes.
A licensed tour guide acquaints the guests with the sights and landmarks of historical and cultural significance in Sofia in the Bulgarian language. The locations include the Yablanski house, the monument to Bulgarian pilots and paratroopers, the shortest street in the city, the yellow octagonal tower from 1920 and many more.
People wanting to join the tour must register in advance – at the information tourist centres (in the underpass at St. Kliment Ohridski University and in the city garden) or online using the registration form available at www.visitsofia,.bg.
