Charges of trading in influence are to be brought against Dzheyhan Ibryamov after decisions were made to strip him of his immunity from prosecution as member of parliament and as candidate for member of parliament in the upcoming election.

Dzheyhan Ibryamov has been detained for 72 hours in connection with an investigation by the anti-corruption commission at the moment of receiving 100,000 Leva in marked bills. At the request of the Office of the Prosecutor General, because of the perpetration of a grievous crime, the Central Election Commission stripped Ibryamov of his immunity. After a meeting of the presiding body of the parliament, Raya Nazaryan, President of the National Assembly too stripped him of immunity. Dzheyhan Ibryamov’s wife Birshen declared a hunger strike until his release.
