The number of tourists will go up by 20-25% during the coming winter season, tour operators believe. However, they say that the people intending to come to Bulgaria’s resorts are waiting to see a more stable weather forecast due to climate change.
The tourist industry says the summer season has been successful, with more tourists, the highest numbers coming from Romania, Poland, Czechia, the UK and Germany, says Ivan Grozhev, chairman of the Agency for Incoming Tourism. “For the summer of 2025 we are also expecting good results and booking indications are very good,” he said.
Tourists’ impressions of Bulgaria are good, Ivan Groshev says, but there should be more information about supplementary services. “Customers give very positive feedback about their experience though they are surprised we are not offering anything more than just seaside or just winter ski tourism,” he says.
