The Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil has opened the sixth charity campaign "Children draw for children", which is being held in aid of the "Ears, Nose and Throat" children's ward at Sofia's Tsaritsa Joanna ISUL hospital. It is organized by the Cultural and Educational Department of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and citizens can buy drawings, icons and photographs from an exhibition organized for the purpose in a Sofia-based hotel.

"The expression of compassion is very important for the entire contest and campaign," the patriarch said at the opening of the exhibition, pointing out that when a person creates, he rediscovers both God and himself.

The director of the hospital, Lyubomir Penev, said that the most important thing in the initiative is the kindness passed on from children to children, and Associate Professor Tsolo Tsolov promised that the collected funds would improve the living conditions of the young patients.

Donations from the exhibition will be added to those already made to make the ears, nose and throat ward at the hospital a more pleasant and colorful place.
