The government approved an additional BGN 200 million (EUR 102 million) for the budget of the State Fund Agriculture for 2024. The funds are allocated for the disbursement of part of the second tranche of the so-called "Ukrainian aid". BGN 100 million (EUR 51 million) will be paid to support farmers in primary agricultural production - rose farmers, breeders of large and small ruminants, apiarists, vine-growers, fruit, vegetable and tobacco growers. Producers of cereals and oilseeds will receive BGN 100 million (EUR 51 million).
In May, the caretaker cabinet secured and paid the full amount of the first tranche of the so-called"Ukrainian aid" in the amount of nearly BGN 300 million (EUR 153 million). Support was provided to over 51,000 producers. Bulgaria’s Minister of Agriculture will meet today with industry organisations to discuss the possibilities of paying out the so-called ''Ukrainian Aid'' by October 15.
