The SHARE 2024 Architecture Awards ceremony takes place today in Athens. A Bulgarian project - for the protection, conservation, exhibition and public space of the Bishop's Basilica of Philippopolis, Plovdiv - has been shortlisted in the "Educational - Cultural" category. The project was implemented through agreements with the Ministry of Culture and the America for Bulgaria Foundation. Over 450 volunteers participated in the archaeology research.
The SHARE Architecture Awards recognise excellence in architectural design and construction, honouring projects that demonstrate creativity, sustainability and a deep respect for cultural and historical heritage. The shortlisting of the Bulgarian project is a significant recognition of the work to bring to life the early Christian Episcopal Basilica of Philippopolis and the conservation of its magnificent mosaics.
