Bulgarian farmers remain ready to protest due to delayed payments under the so-called "Ukrainian aid". The government has paid BGN 200 million (EUR 102 million) of the agreed BGN 325 million (EUR 166 million). Bulgaria’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Tahov has assured that the money will be paid by the end of November.
Representatives of agricultural organizations expressed dissatisfaction after a meeting with Minister Tahov and demanded talks with Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova, as well as guarantees from the Prime Minister for the full payment of the aid.
''At the moment there are 58,000 people who are literally like beggars'', National Sheep and Goat Breeding Association Co-chairman Simeon Karakolev told the BNR. ''At this stage, these are just words thrown out in various formats. Nothing official'', said Simeon Karakolev.
