The topic of the release of the two Bulgarian sailors who are hostages of the Houthis will be raised at a meeting in Cairo. This was announced by the newly appointed Palestinian ambassador Nasri Khalil Abu Jaish. The Bulgarian sailors, part of the crew of "Galaxy Leader", have been in captivity since November last year. On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked Israel, sparking the growing conflict in the Middle East. According to the ambassador, Palestine has held talks with Iran, Yemen, and Hamas for the release of the Bulgarians held captive, BNR reporter Marta Mladenova reported.

"This month, a meeting between the Palestinian National Authority and Hamas will be held in Cairo. One of our main demands to Hamas will be the release of the two Bulgarians," the Palestinian ambassador said.
