A letter of intent covering military activities between Turkiye, Romania and Bulgaria was signed in Brussels by the defence ministers of the three countries, the Bulgarian news agency BTA writes, citing Anadolu Ajansı. Bulgarian Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov and his counterparts from Turkiye and Romania Yasar Guler and Angel Tilvar signed the document during the NATO defence ministers’ meeting.
Meanwhile the Bulgarian navy’s hydrographic service received two new Teledyne Gavia autonomous underwater vehicles under a Pentagon programme for enhancing the partners’ defence capabilities. The underwater drones can conduct coastal hydrographic surveys at a depth of up to 1,000 m., and can be used for scientific as well as for defence purposes. They consist of individual modules and are easy to operate. Bulgaria is the first country to receive a full set of Teledyne Gavia modules.
