Bulgarians skeptical about political stability in the country ahead of Sunday elections

More than 2/3 of the Bulgarians (71%) who participated in an Exacta survey do not believe that it is possible for Bulgaria to have a good and stable government after the elections on October 27. The remaining 29% are optimistic, and a large part of GERB-SDS and PP-DB voters assume that good governance is possible and expect their parties to participate in the governance of the country.

In the national study of Exacta Research Group, conducted in the period from October 19 to 22, 2024, 1,050 adult Bulgarians were interviewed in 71 settlements of the country, with a quota based on basic socio-demographic characteristics, using the "person-to-person" direct interview method. The maximum permissible error for the 50% relative shares is +/- 3%. The research was funded by the Exacta Research Group as part of the agency's research program.

Three quarters of the voters of Vazrazhdane, MECH and Velichie are highly skeptical about the possibility of good and stable governance of the country. However, 42% of those who said they will vote on October 27 do not rule out the possibility that after the elections Bulgaria might have a good and stable government. On the other hand, a large part of those who firmly decided not to vote are skeptical in this regard.

According to Exacta data, 7 parties will find a place in the next composition of the parliament, and 3 parties will remain below the 4 percent barrier, with the MECH party having the highest chances to pass it.

The share of non-voting Bulgarians is also increasing, while the number of people who are expected go to the polls to vote with the option "I do not support anyone" is decreasing.
