''Bulgaria is ready to make the final step in joining the Schengen. Hungary will continue to support the government and the people of Bulgaria in this endeavor'', Hungary’s Premier Viktor Orban wrote on X. In the post, he congratulated GERB and the party's leader, Boyko Borissov, on their victory in the recent parliamentary elections.

''Hungary is among the proponents of European support for Romania’s and Bulgaria’s full accession to Schengen as soon as possible'', Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó told the relevant parliamentary committee in Budapest.
