With all tally sheets processed, voter turnout in Bulgaria’s parliamentary elections on October 27 is 38.94%, announced the Central Election Commission (CEC). This figure may change following a recount. According to interim data, 2,570,639 people exercised their right to vote. Voter turnout increased by more than 4% as compared to the June 9 elections.
By law, CEC must re-check the polling station protocols submitted by all 31 district election commissions no later than Thursday evening (October 31). The names of the newly elected 240 MPs must be announced by Sunday, November 3.
