On 30 October, the Regional Museum of History in Razgrad is organizing free guided tours around the Abrittus archaeological reserve to mark the end of the tourist season.

Throughout the day the public will be given a guided tour of the ancient Abrittus and a lecture about the life of the Romans who once lived in the town. Abrittus, originated in the 1st century as a Roman military camp, after which it evolved into one of the province’s major cities. Its fortress walls are 1,400 m. long in total, 2.10 - 3 m. thick and, together with the battlements - 12 m. high. After it was built, Abrittus evolved as an important military, administrative, political and religious hub. In the 5th-6th centuries, Abrittus was one of the seven biggest cities in the Roman province of second Moesia and the seat of a bishop.

Today, children will be able to learn an ancient handicraft – pottery – at a designated children’s workshop.
