The Bulgarian Ministry of Defense has signed a contract with Polish state company Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 2 S.A. for major repair of six MiG-29 aircraft engines.

The maximum period for carrying out the repair of each engine will be no more than nine months from the date of delivery of the engine. The total price of the contract is EUR 10,020,000 excluding VAT, BTA reported.

By the end of next year, Bulgaria expects to have eight new F-16 jets and 14 trained pilots, Minister Atanas Zapryanov said in April this year.
