"The nomination of ''BSP – United Left'' for National Assembly Speaker has strong chances, because the two biggest political forces cannot reach an agreement", said Rumen Gechev, a member of the National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party. ''It cannot happen without the first two political formations. They must decide- either we go to elections, or they choose the candidate of one of the next parties’’, Rumen Gechev went on to say.

''The left-wing coalition will seek support from all reasonable forces who believe that the state should not collapse'', said the newly elected MP Ivan Ivanov.

Maya Manolova, a coalition partner in the alliance, announced that she would insist that ''BSP – United Left'' file a complaint requesting the complete annulment of the elections and the recount of all ballots.
