Greece and Türkiye are cooperating with Bulgaria to combat migrant trafficking

Greece’s Minister of Migration and Asylum Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos and Türkiye’s Minister of Intyerior Ali Yerlikaya held a bilateral meeting in the Hungarian capital during the Budapest process, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.

The two ministers stated they were satisfied with the results of the tripartite cooperation between Greece, Türkiye and Bulgaria in controlling the illegal migration across land borders. At the same time, they agreed cooperation along maritime borders needs to be enhanced so as to achieve similar positive results there as well. Minister Panagiotopoulos stated that the two countries have a common foe – the criminal groups of human traffickers, and that only by joint effort can they be combatted effectively.
