One more protest by friends and relatives of people who lost their lives in road accidents took place in front of the Central Courthouse in Sofia, and then moved to the space in front of parliament building.
The protesters are demanding justice for the victims and convictions for the perpetrators of crimes on the road. “Our demands remain unchanged. When you get behind the wheel drunk, on drugs and when you exceed the speed limit several times over, that is murder. We also want a first refusal to take an alcohol and drug test to be criminalized with a higher fine. And one more thing we want – that the problem of technical vehicle evaluations and blood tests be resolved as a matter of urgency. We are seeing legal proceedings being delayed by 7-8 years because of these expert evaluations,” said Petya Ivanova, founder of the association “Angels on the Road”.
