The introduction of a new transit information system caused a long queue at Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint

Heavy goods vehicles formed a fifteen-kilometer-long queue on the Maritsa Motorway before the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing in the direction of Türkiye. The line of trucks has already reached the junction to Svilengrad, reported BTA. According to eyewitnesses, the buffer parking lot in front of the border crossing is full and traffic towards the checkpoint with Türkiye is heavy.

The traffic congestion is caused by the temporary halt in the processing of freight vehicles at the Lesovo and Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoints due to the introduction of a new transit information system NCTS-P5 by Türkiye. According to the Ministry of Interior's press center, there are no issues with the passage of passenger cars and buses.
