Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov:

Ukraine to receive funding from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets

Caretaker Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov has confirmed Bulgaria's commitment to the joint efforts of the European Union in support of Ukraine. He did this in Brussels at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council.

Atanas Zapryanov pointed out the need to provide Ukraine with the necessary funding, including by using the extraordinary proceeds from frozen Russian assets.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria expressed its firm support for the heroic people of Ukraine in their struggle for freedom, independence, peace and prosperity. A published position by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of 1,000 days since the beginning of the war states: "The cruel Russian terror did not break the Ukrainian spirit and courage during these 1000 days of war and justice will prevail."
