The National Ballet of El Salvador, founded by a Bulgarian, takes the stage in Stara Zagora

The Gala Concert of the National Ballet of El Salvador will take place today at 16.00 in the State Opera House in Stara Zagora as part of the programme of the 54th International Festival of Opera and Ballet Arts

The founder and director of the company is the Bulgarian ballet master and former first soloist of the Sofia Opera and Ballet Rumen Rashev. The programme includes fragments from the ballets La Vivandière and La Esmeralda to the music of Cesare Pugni, Le Talisman to the music of Riccardo Drigo, The Doll Fairy by Joseph Bayer and Jorge Garcia's choreography Majísimo to the music of Le Cid by Jules Massenet.

"I was happy to accept the invitation of the organisers of the Festival of Opera and Ballet Arts in Stara Zagora," said Rumen Rashev in a video address on Facebook. - With God's help, the National Ballet of El Salvador, whose director I have been since its foundation 5 years ago, will present our Gala Concert on 24 November".

The 54th Festival of Opera and Ballet Arts began on 21 November and will run until 4 December 2024.
