A protest march under the slogan "No more", organised by Feminist Mobilisations, will be held on today's International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women in front of the capital's Courthouse.

The aim is to draw public and institutional attention to the alarming levels of domestic violence, gender-based killings of women and the systematic neglect of their rights
According to unofficial statistics, at least 18 women have lost their lives this year for these reasons, and thousands more are harassed, persecuted and humiliated by their abusers every day.
The focus of the event in Sofia will be on the need for immediate legislative changes, adequate support for victims and long-term efforts to eradicate the patriarchal norms that sustain violence.

"No More" demonstrations will also be held in other Bulgarian cities - among them Plovdiv, Varna, Stara Zagora and Gabrovo.
