World-famous opera singer Sonya Yoncheva has received the "Musician of the Year, 2023" award. It was presented to her by BNR Director General Milen Mitev.

The soprano was chosen in a national poll by the classical music programme "Allegro Vivace" on Bulgarian National Radio's "Horizont" channel.

Culture is the key to a better society, the soprano said upon receiving the award.

"To keep moving forward. To fight - not only for my career, but for future generations. To show everyone that culture is not only our future - culture is the key to a better society. And I believe that Bulgarian National Radio, "Allegro Vivace", with its 35 years, proves this every day. My special thanks go to the thousands of listeners who voted for me. It is a great honour for me".

The concert will take place on Alexander Nevsky Square and will be the last in a series of three galas organised by the opera singer and her team.
