Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov used emotional words to send a message of love to his favourite sport in the "Love Letter to Tennis" column of the Association of Professional Tennis Players, informs Gong.bg.

"Dear tennis, It's a long love story that you and I have. I was introduced to you when I was three years old with a very small racket given to me by my mum. My first interaction with you was when I was hitting against a very broken wall in my home town..." the 10th-ranked ATP player.

"Our years together have been filled with lots of love, heartbreaks, excitement, outrageous moments and I'll forever be greatful for what you have brought not only to my life, but to my heart. It was love at first sight," said the Bulgarian tennis player.

For him, tennis is not just a game, it is a school for life.

"Tennis, when you broke my heart... more than once... I don't know if I should thank you, but I do."

"It's a moment I had to go through and at the same time it's a moment where you taught me how tennis uses the language of life... Whatever I think that brought the biggest smile on my face - I owe it to you. Keep on going, tennis! Love, Grigor," the tennis player said in his message.
