Bulgaria's best individual rhythmic gymnastics athlete in recent years, Boryana Kaleyn, has officially ended her active sports career. She announced her decision in a post on social media.

Kaleyn is a silver medallist at the Paris Olympics, an absolute European Champion at Baku 2023, and a winner of numerous medals at World and European Championships and World Cups.

"The time has come to close an important chapter of my life - that of an active athlete. Gymnastics has been and will always be an important part of my life," she wrote.

Earlier today, the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation announced 10 gymnasts who will be part of the national team for the coming season. Boryana Kaleyn was not on the list.
