The coalition GERB-SDS has begun negotiations with the other parliamentary formations for the election of a regular cabinet within the 51st National Assembly. The meetings are being held before President Rumen Radev hands the first exploratory mandate to the first parliamentary force - GERB-SDS. Democratic Bulgaria was the first to sit at the negotiating table with the future mandate holder.

During the first meeting of the negotiations, GERB-SDS and Democratic Bulgaria discussed the possibility of forming a broad parliamentary majority supporting a regular government with an anti-corruption and pro-European profile - with assured stability and without floating majorities.

Democratic Bulgaria presented its legislative priorities, which are included in the Declaration for a cordon sanitaire around Delyan Peevski, and insisted on their inclusion in a "comprehensive coalition agreement." The meetings of GERB-SDS will continue on Tuesday, December 17.
