Around mid-January, we are expected to fulfil the last criterion for the eurozone, which will allow us to submit the convergence reports to the European Central Bank and the European Commission, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev told journalists. According to him, the budget submitted by the government meets the requirement for a deficit of up to three percent in order for this country to become a member of the eurozone.

Regarding the state budget for 2025, Dimitar Glavchev recalled the promises that it would be adopted by the end of the year. “If they had rejected it, at least now we would have had the opportunity to submit a bill to extend the previous budget,” he added, criticizing the MPs for going on vacation.

Regarding the unsigned Agreement with Ukraine on Security Cooperation, the Prime Minister says that it does not raise any concerns, except for one aspect - its ten-year term.
