The situation continues complicated in many towns and villages in the country because of the fallen snow. Electricity has not been restored yet in part of the municipalities Apriltsi, Teteven, Lovech, Samokov and Sofia-region. In the region of Lovech, teams from ERM-Zapad electricity company and of the state-run Electricity System Operator are working to repair the damage. According to Electrohold electricity operator, around 95% of the grid damages in Western Bulgaria were caused by tall trees falling onto the power lines which ERM-Zapad is not allowed to remove as they are outside the service zones, ERM-Zapad chief operating officer Victor Stanchev said in an interview with public service TV BNT.
The situation on Mount Vitosha is complicated, as the snow has continued for 4 days straight. There is a snow cover of 2 metres, said Petar Dyakov from the Sofia Inspectorate for BNT.
