Caretaker Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov has ordered that by the end of the day, problems with the electricity supply in settlements affected by the winter conditions should be eliminated and the power supply should be restored.

“In case this does not happen, customers should be paid the damages provided for in the general terms and conditions of the contracts for access to the respective electricity distribution network,” he said at a meeting with representatives of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, the Electricity System Operator and the three electricity distribution companies.

The prolonged periods of snowfall, which caused many trees to fall are the main cause of the accidents that occurred, participants in the meeting said and identified measures to deal with the situation.
