Weather forecast for 31 December

Sunny weather to ring in the New Year

Most of the country will be sunny on Tuesday, with light winds from the west-southwest. Fog or low clouds are likely in the valleys and plains before midday, but visibility will improve after midday. Lows will be between minus 5 and 0°C, around minus 2°C in Sofia. 

Highs will be between 6 and 11°C, around 6 degrees in the capital.

In the mountains it will be sunny with light winds from the north-north-west. The maximum temperature will be 6°C at 1,200 m and around 1°C at 2,000 m.

The Black Sea coast will also be sunny. Maximum temperatures will be 8° to 10°C, the same as the sea water. The sea swell will be up to 2.

On 1 January it will be mostly sunny, with some fog in the lowlands and valleys in the morning hours. Minimum temperatures will be between minus 2°C and minus 3°C and maximum temperatures between 10°C and 15°C.
