There is no problem for the state that the budget for 2025 has not been adopted, since for the first three months it can work on the basis of the Public Finance Act, which provides for such an opportunity.

This opinion was expressed to journalists by the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova in Plovdiv, where she met with representatives of the Bulgarian Socialist Party in the city. She reminded that at the end of December the caretaker government submitted a draft law to extend the validity of the 2024 budget. It is about to be considered by the deputies.

On Tuesday, the budget committee will deal with this draft law and additionally discuss tax laws and the draft comprehensive budgets of the state, social security and the health fund, Kiselova added.

When asked whether a regular government will be formed, Kiselova said that the Speaker of the Parliament has no commitment to this procedure, but hopes that the state will not have to go through an election procedure again.
