About 5% more foreign tourists will visit Bulgaria this winter

A 4-5% growth in the number of foreign tourists is expected during the winter season. This forecast was made by Ivan Groshev, chairman of the Association of Incoming Agencies, in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio. According to Groshev, the favourable snow conditions at the beginning of the season are a positive factor.

About 47% of foreigners arrive in this country for tourism purposes. Two-thirds of them head to the seaside resorts and this trend will continue.

"For the upcoming summer season, there is good news from Germany at the backdrop of last year's problems with charter capacities. Bombastic developments cannot be expected from the Polish market like in previous years, while for the UK market, the forecasts are for a growth of 7-8%," Ivan Groshev said.

The benefit of Bulgaria’s full membership in the Schengen area will be felt directly through the number of tourists from Romania.
