The General Consulate of Bulgaria in Los Angeles issues a warning to Bulgarians in LA

The General Consulate of Bulgaria in Los Angeles warned on its Facebook page that the fires in the metropolis have caused water contamination in some areas and urged Bulgarian citizens living in the affected areas to closely monitor the information from local authorities (Los Angeles Department of Water and Power - https://www.ladwp.com) regarding the state of drinking water. Warnings have been issued for the following areas: Pacific Palisades ZIP code 90272 and neighboring municipalities located north of San Vicente Blvd; Malibu; Pasadena and Altadena.

''In connection with reports about looting in homes in areas affected by the fires in Los Angeles County, we are issuing recommendations for increased vigilance and monitoring of your home and property if you live in an area affected by the natural disaster'', wrote the diplomatic mission.

At least 10 people have died and thousands of homes and businesses have been destroyed in the disaster. Approximately 180,000 people have been ordered to evacuate and 200,000 have been instructed to prepare for evacuation.
