MPs have given themselves a three-day deadline to submit written proposals before the second reading of the amendments to the Judiciary Act, which aim to suspend the election of a new prosecutor general. The vote for the next chief prosecutor is scheduled for January 16 and the only candidate is the current acting prosecutor general Borislav Sarafov.
Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova announced at today's session that the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs has combined the projects of the PP-DB, "Vazrazhdane" and "There is Such a People" into a joint report.
