Patriarch Daniil: “The new US president is bringing normality back”

Some groups claim to represent Eastern Orthodoxy and this is a problem, Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil told bTV, commenting the registration of the “Bulgarian Orthodox Old-Style Church” by the Supreme Court of Cassation.

“Many forces are involved in military conflicts, but it seems that with the election of the new US president normality is returning back to society, so let’s leave politics to politicians and focus on our work,” the patriarch commented. “In this conflict (between Russia and Ukraine), dialogue was hindered and this is not normal. Donald Trump had stated that he would settle this conflict. Now he says that 6 months are needed. He said soberly: ‘People are dying there, this fratricidal war needs to stop’. I think this is a voice of reason,” the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church added.
