Bulgarian Consulate in Los Angeles issues recommendations to Bulgarians affected by the devastating fires

The Consulate General of Bulgaria in Los Angeles has issued recommendations to Bulgarians affected by the devastating fires in the city. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering assistance to those affected by the fires in California to cover their basic needs, the consular office said.
"If you have insurance and are applying for FEMA assistance, you must first file a claim with your insurance company. FEMA cannot duplicate benefits for losses covered by insurance. If insurance does not cover all of the damages, you may be eligible for federal assistance," the release said.

Individuals and families in designated areas may be eligible to receive funds for basic necessities such as food, water, baby food and other supplies. People corresponding to specific requirements may also receive funds for housing needs if they are unable to return to their home because of the fires.
