European integration of the Western Balkans and support for Ukraine remain priorities for Bulgaria

The new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Georg Georgiev, has held his first telephone conversation with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. 

Georgiev pointed out Bulgaria’s commitment to a united and strong European Union that would guarantee the security and prosperity of its citizens, especially at the backdrop of the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. As foreign policy priorities of Bulgaria, Georgiev indicated the integration of the Western Balkans, following the principle of the candidate countries' own merits, security in the Black Sea, support for Ukraine and alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
