President Rumen Radev held a phone conversation with the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan Regional Issues Miroslav Lajčák. The two discussed aspects of the European integration process of the countries in the region. Rumen Radev and Miroslav Lajčák emphasized the priority that the European Commission places on the topic of EU enlargement, which allows the Western Balkans to make progress in meeting the membership criteria.

President Radev expressed appreciation for the efforts made by Miroslav Lajčák towards the European integration of the Western Balkan countries and expressed hope that, in the near future, the leadership of the Republic of North Macedonia would show political will to implement the European consensus of 2022, namely the inclusion of Bulgarians in its constitution, which would open the path for the country to start negotiations for full EU membership.
