43.1% of polled Bulgarians would support a ban on TikTok

61% of Bulgarians come across fake news every day, a survey by the Myara agency conducted by January 17 shows. 17.5% encounter fake news at least once or several times a month. Just 5.5% say they have not encountered fake news. 42.6% of those with a Facebook account say they have seen censorship on the network at least once and 15.8% say this has happened to them.

43.1% of those surveyed have a positive attitude towards a possible ban on TikTok. 28.4% are against a ban and 26.6% say that they are not sufficiently informed to have an opinion.

The poll shows a widespread understanding of false information, which in turn gives rise to ideas for new restrictions, sociologists comment. The mass consciousness reacts more with an instinct for more prohibitions, rather than with an instinct for more freedom, the agency says.
