Bulgarian head of state Rumen Radev presented the Presidential Badge of Honour to the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR). The award was received by BNR Director General Milen Mitev during the solemn concert at the Sofia Opera and Ballet. The decree was issued on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the BNR and because of the consistently fulfilled socially significant mission and the overall contribution of the BNR to the formation and consolidation of the contemporary image and authority of Bulgarian journalism and Bulgarian culture on a national and global scale.
Before reading the decree, the President said: "Having withstood numerous trials, historical vicissitudes and political pressure over the years, the Radio has managed to preserve its most important mission - to reach every Bulgarian home, to provide timely and objective information and to impose high standards in journalism. That is why it has become a true institution that succeeds in the most important thing - to win the trust of Bulgarians.
