The ancient city Heraclea Sintica is among Bulgaria's most attractive tourist sites presented at international tourist exhibitions in Vienna and Stuttgart, Katya Stoyanova, head of the project "Restoration, conservation and socialization of Heraclea Sintica", told BTA.
At the two prestigious exhibitions, we present the entire cultural, historical, natural heritage, all tourist sites, wineries, the village of Dolene and everything that can be seen on the territory of Petrich municipality. Of course, Heraclea Sintica aroused the greatest interest, because people do not expect to see such a thing in Bulgaria, says Stoyanova.

The innovative presentation of local landmarks through virtual reality glasses was greeted with particular attention by visitors. They had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the ancient city and take a virtual walk around all the landmarks in the town of Petrich and this part of Southwestern Bulgaria.

Two films made with virtual reality were offered - one is dedicated to cultural and historical heritage and provides an opportunity for a virtual walk through the sites "Samuil's Fortress", "Heraclea Sintica" and the historical museum. The other video is about the natural heritage and presents the Belasitsa, Ograzhden mountains, the Dolene and Rupite areas, as well as local wineries.

She added that after the construction of the infrastructure of Heraclea Sintica, more active advertising of the site begins. Several more participations in similar exhibitions are planned, the first of which will be a tourist exchange in Budapest.
