Bulgaria's Schengen membership is a great opportunity, but also a challenge. In order to make the most of this opportunity, administrative barriers that hinder the tourism sector must be removed. This was agreed by participants at a meeting on the development of tourism in Bulgaria after Schengen accession.
"The Ministry of Tourism is setting up a working group that will coordinate the efforts of all institutions involved in speeding up the procedures for issuing tourist and work visas," Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh announced at the meeting. The group will look for sustainable solutions to facilitate access to Bulgaria for foreign tourists and workers.
