VFU (Visionary Font Ultra) – this is the name a third-year student from Varna Free University, Volodymyr Fedotov, has given to the font he is presenting at the International Triennial of Typography in Poland.

“To create a font takes a sense of symmetry, balance and some knowledge of mathematics so as to observe the proportions in any letter,” says Volodymyr, who is studying graphic design.

Volodymyr Fedotov is one of three representatives of Bulgaria selected for participation in the exhibition of the International Triennial of Typography Prof. Józef Mroszczak. His original font will be on display alongside posters by young authors from Poland, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands etc.

The exposition featuring works by the 50 top participants in the contest programme of the triennial opens on 21 March at the Museum of Printing in Nowy Targ. Fedotov says he expects Google to include his fonts in its data base.
