Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov has ordered a comprehensive analysis of the regulatory framework in the field of aesthetic medicine. Extraordinary inspections are also beginning throughout the country for unregulated medical services in the field. The inspections come about after more than 10 women sought medical help due to complications after Botox injections. The person who injected them was not qualified to do such manipulations.

The Ministry of Health announced that the necessary organization has been created to carry out an extraordinary import of botulinum antitoxin. The first delivery will arrive on February 4. For the past 10 years a total of 16 cases of botulism have been registered in Bulgaria, as just some of the patients needed the administration of botulinum antitoxin.
