Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev. According to a statement on the website of the Bulgarian Patriarchate, one of the reasons for the meeting is the consecration of the new Bulgarian church in London at the end of February this year. His Holiness Daniil is expected to participate in the solemn liturgy and, for the first time, visit Bulgarians abroad as Patriarch.
Minister Georgiev expressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' readiness to provide assistance. During the conversation, issues related to the activities of the Bulgarian diocese in Western Europe were also discussed, where clergy work closely with embassies and consular services. The meeting was attended by Metropolitan Gregory of Veliko Tarnovo, Metropolitan Anthony of Western and Central Europe and Bishop Gerasim of Melnik.
