National English Spelling Bee week opens in Botevgrad

A week of school competitions, part of the 15th edition Bulgarian National English Spelling Bee has opened at the Academician Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov secondary school of natural sciences and mathematics in Botevgrad.

More than 7,000 students up to the 7th grade from 450 schools from all parts of the country, who have been preparing for the bee for several months, will take part in the first stage this year, the organizers say. Second to fourth grade students will take part in Spelling Bee Junior.

The contest is organized by the CORPluS - CORPS for Education and Development, in partnership with the foundation America for Bulgaria, the US embassy and the Ministry of Education and Science.
