''Kusno e''- a song inspired by the Bulgarian woman's strength to stand up for love

True to her characteristic ethno style with a contemporary sound, Dimana Mircheva, known as DIA, presents her latest single - "Kusno e". In it, the singer and songwriter builds on her messages, always drawing on Bulgarian legends and beliefs, which she brings into the modern world. This time, DIA finds inspiration in the strength of the Bulgarian woman.

"There are legends about the strength of Bulgarian women – very strong women who stand their ground. They show stoicism, defending family and love. In the past, Bulgarian women fought for their love, even if it sometimes meant never seeing their family again, because their family and relatives wanted them to marry a certain person. This was often very sad for the girls and they even disowned their families and ran away for the sake of that love. That's why in the song I sing 'across nine mountains to the tenth' – it means going so far that no one can find you."

The music and lyrics of "Kusno e" are written by DIA herself, who reinterprets an ancient story through the lens of modern times. The arrangement is by Alex Nushev. The popular Turkish musician and multi-instrumentalist Ali Farbodnia also joined DIA in this endeavor. DIA discovered him on social media and reached out to him to tell her story through the Armenian duduk – a sound that, according to the singer, fits the song perfectly.
