With various events throughout the country Bulgarians are marking 152 years after the death of the Apostle of Bulgarian Freedom Vasil Levski. Today, at 6:00 p.m. a memorial ceremony in front of the monument to the Apostle of Freedom in Sofia takes place. Head of State Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliyana Iotova will also pay tribute. The Head of State will deliver a speech and lay a wreath.

Hundreds of residents of Pleven and guests of the city went to the monument to Vasil Levski to pay respect and lay flowers.

At an official ceremony, Sofia Airport was renamed "Vasil Levski" Airport. This became possible after the Head of State issued a decree to this effect.

More than 100 children took part in the traditional "Lion's Leap" competition in the "Vasil Levski" High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Smolyan.

It was also announced that the construction of a tourist route "Levski's Path" has begun. The route will start from the town of Troyan and will connect northern and southern Bulgaria and pass through various places associated with the work of the Apostle.
