A list of over 10 unfair trade practices that must be stopped will be handed over to representatives of all parliamentary groups. Among them are high mark-ups, hidden fees of retail chains, inequality between Bulgarian and imported products, etc.

In an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio in Stara Zagora, the chairman of the National Grain Producer Association, Ilia Prodanov, announced that all these practices would be described and published. Specific proposals have also been prepared for changes to be incorporated into Bulgarian legislation in order to solve the problem of high food prices. According to Prodanov, boycotting stores is not a way to deal with mark-ups, but it is a way to draw the attention of politicians on this topic.

In addition to the law on food chains, which the ministry announced it was working on, a law on cooperatives should also be adopted, Prodanov pointed out, adding that this is the way for producers to counteract the pressure of large retail chains.
